Scottish Mountain Skills is run by myself, Iain Ballantyne, a qualified Winter Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor (WMCI) with a passion for teaching and developing others.

With Fort William as a home base I am lucky to travel and work throughout the inspiring landscape of the highlands and islands. I strive to provide tailored adventures and opportunities to “up-skill” you, creating memories which will last a lifetime. When I’m not working, you can find me rock or winter climbing throughout Scotland or further afield. I have cherished memories travelling around Europe; sport, rock and alpine climbing.
